Adam has represented clients in uncontested and contested divorces, child custody, alimony and child support disputes and paternity disputes. Adam has also represented clients seeking to amend, modify, or enforce divorce judgments as well as clients seeking to enter separation agreements. Adam has represented overseas clients seeking either to enforce foreign divorce judgments in New York or seeking relief from those foreign judgments here. To this end, Adam has represented individuals residing in England, Singapore, India, France, and the Netherlands and has a wealth of experience advising clients in cases where one country's divorce and child custody laws conflict with those in the United States. Adam also has advised clients in connection with the Federal Parental Kidnapping Statutes and has represented clients in civil contempt proceedings. Adam has also represented gay and lesbian clients in both drafting and litigating domestic partnership agreements. In 2001, Adam was honored for his pro bono matrimonial work by the Legal Aid Society, receiving a Pro Bono Publico Award for his “meticulousness, excellence, and compassion in handling a complex, contested matrimonial dispute involving severe domestic violence and other issues.”
